Bedford International Athletic Stadium has acquired a reputation as one of the finest facilities of its kind in the south and indeed the UK - it enjoys a central location in the heart of Bedford, and yet is only 10 minutes from the M1 and A1 road links, making it accessible to all areas. An international athletic stadium in the pipeline for a fully refurbished track set on 2 acre grounds.

The centre boasts an impressive 8 court sports hall with high ceilings and an indoor sprint track, sand pit and pole vole stand. Many activities take place in the sports hall which is also hired out for large events and bookings of up to 1000 people.

The outstanding indoor facilities also include a lecture / meeting room with smartboard as well as a community room, separate bar and bar area plus a kitchen, all which can also be hired for events. There is a lift next to the stairs. On site are several rooms which can be hired out such as for physio and other purposes.

There is a small fully operational gym with cardiovascular equipment, resistance machines and a free weights area. The centre has 6 large changing rooms with multiple facilities in each from showers, toilets and changing areas, there is also a separate changing area for officials and disability changing room. In reception there are further toilets comprising of female, male and separate disabled facilities. Outside the superb Athletics facilities include 4 sandpits, full track with, two high jump beds, two pole volts, 2 hammer cages, a main and second Javelin and discus with commentary box and full equipment to run a high-level event along with a first aid post utilised by St. John Ambulance for large scale evets.

There is also separate trackside male and female toilets and outside seating stand which look out across the whole track.  Part of the extensive grounds includes two full size rugby pitches, a 400m and 800m outside area around the rugby pitches that can be marked for a grass track and also several football pitches.

The centre has ample parking and space and just across the road if a large car park also set back along the edge of the great river Ouse and several minutes' walk from town.

This venue provides a film-friendly sports and leisure facility. If you are an agency or scout looking to recce filming and photography locations, this centre is characterful and flexible.
